AML / Compliance Officer

About the Role

Our client, a growing financial services company, is seeking an ambitious AML / Compliance Officer to join their team.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will play a key role in establishing and strengthening the company’s AML and Compliance framework while working closely with senior management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for all AML and Compliance matters on a day-to-day basis.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s AML and Compliance framework.
  • Establish AML policies, procedures, and internal controls from the ground up.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable CySEC regulations and other relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and ensure the business remains compliant.
  • Prepare AML and regulatory reports for management and regulatory purposes.
  • Review and enhance internal compliance procedures on an ongoing basis.
  • Support internal audits and regulatory inspections when required.
  • Provide compliance guidance to internal stakeholders across the business.
  • Promote and maintain a strong compliance culture throughout the organisation.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of hands-on experience in AML and Compliance within a CySEC-regulated financial services firm.
  • Previous experience performing AML and Compliance responsibilities in a regulated environment, with the ability to independently manage day-to-day AML/Compliance operations.
  • CySEC AML Certification is mandatory.
  • Strong understanding of AML/CFT legislation, CySEC regulatory requirements, and compliance obligations.
  • Proven experience in preparing AML and regulatory reports.
  • Hands-on experience with compliance monitoring and operational systems.
  • Proven ability to develop, implement, and maintain AML policies, procedures, and internal controls from scratch.
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently while taking full ownership of the Compliance function.
